Novara, Italy, October 7, 2015. The italian runners-up team celebrates the two medals won by Malesevic and Cruz at the respective continental championships and tonight shows up the team to the city.
Two bronze medals for Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA: the club welcomed yesterday Tijana Malesevic and Aurea Cruz, who will both join today the team at work under the guide of the head coach Luciano Pedullà. Finally, the team is reunited, after the arrival of the six players involved with the respective national team into the continental championships. The Serbian rising star Tijana Malesevic was welcomed and celebrated for the wonderful national team season, as Serbia won the bronze medal at the European Championships and, one month before, the silver medal at the World Cup. Result that also guarantee to the Serbian national team a spot in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Meanwhile, Aurea Cruz achieved a satisfying third place at the Norceca, leading Puerto Rico national team point by point. During the competition, she even tied her personal record of 32 points scored in the 3-2 loss against Dominican Republic; the same score she realized six years ago, once more against the Dominican Republic.
Today the team will have the first “all together” practice and at night, a special event is set for the Italian runners-up of last season: the team will show up to the city at 6.45 pm. The event will be held at the Coccia Theatre, in the “old town”, and will be open to anyone.
On Saturday, the team will play the first official game of the new season, contending for the Italian Supercup in a re-match of the last year’s finals, against Pomì CASALMAGGIORE.
