Novara, Italy, October 26, 2015. Igor Gorgonzola NOVARA is leaving tomorrow to face Vakifbank in Istanbul on wednesday evening. The italian runners-up are ready for their official debut in the CEV Denizbank Champions League after having won the last year Italian cup. For the blue girls, a very hard game against the two-times European Champions lead by Giovanni Guidetti and the former Novara player Kim Hill.
Just few hours after having won their second game in a row in the A1 league (the first Italian national competition), Luciano Pedullà and his girls came back to the gym to prepare their CEV Denizbank Champions League debut. Tomorrow morning the team will leave at 6 am from Milan Malpensa airport to Istanbul, where on wednesday will match Vakifbank Istanbul. «We are ready for our debut – said Igor Gorgonzola coach Luciano Pedullà – and even if our opponent is one of the best in Europe, I am confident that my team can play a good game. We won our first two games in the Italian league and now we look forward to our first Champions League game».
Novara will fly to Istanbul without Helene Rousseaux due to an appendicitis surgery she had on sunday afternoon and she will be replaced by the young Chiara Bosetti, the youngest among the three Bosetti sisters, who currently plays with Novara's junior team.
«We look forward to play a great team – said the Italian setter Noemi Signorile – and it's time for us to set our bar higher. We must do our best if we want to achieve a good result wich would be very important also for the pool's ranking as our goal is to conquer a spot in the Playoff phase».
